Happy New Year - A Message from the CEO of Panorama Software

When examining the evolution of the BI industry, it is shockingly paradoxical. With a vision of helping organizations gain more actionable insight, BI companies have developed a myriad of tools focused on slicing and dicing data and building reports. But those tools have only benefited 20% of the users who actually leverage BI for business results.

In developing solutions, most BI providers have overlooked the needs of the one group of stakeholders that can actually benefit the most from the potential of information insight. And that’s the Information Worker. Existing solutions are complex. So much so that the Information Worker is forced to work around that complexity and fit the solutions to his or her needs.

Panorama NovaView® enables MDL to offer its clients customizable access to their own personalized information through a standard Web browser and empower them through better control of their own data. Data delivers sales information with a large range of dimensions that allow new levels of analysis previously unavailable though older legacy tools.

Panorama Software Announces General Availability of NovaView® Spotlight

NovaView® Spotlight embeds key metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) into Microsoft® Office Outlook® or Microsoft® Office task panes that act as a smart personal dashboard. NovaView® Spotlight enables information workers to focus on relevant insights that impact and drive business decisions, and empowers information workers to take context sensitive, structured actions based on these insights, without requiring complex BI tools or expertise.

Visual enhancements – in the coming months, Panorama will make even more improvements to the current UI experience. New out of the box experiences as well as Rich Internet Application capabilities will be introduced, thus improving usability, personalization and graphic experience.

Thin advanced visuals rendering - In the next couple of months, Panorama will release a new capability for the advanced visualization engine. Until now, the usage of the advanced visualization on client machines required the .Net environment. Soon, this requirement will be removed and thin-rendered charts will be introduced. Once this feature is enabled, all users—no matter which engine they have installed on their machines—will have the option to view advanced charts.

Measure group support – Responding to popular customer requests, Panorama developed the ability to present “Measure Groups” as defined fields on Microsoft Analysis Services 2005. From now on, your hard work of categorizing and grouping measures on analysis services, will be leveraged through the Panorama interface with no effort in the upcoming release of NovaView.

New language support: Japanese - With the expansion of our sales force and product reach within the Asia BI market, our Panorama NovaView architecture will be further enhanced by offering easier localization experience. In the next NovaView product release, Panorama will offer new language support in Japanese.
